Since 1997, The Flateman Rothman Law Firm has focused on retail development and retail real estate strategies, and has been negotiating retail leases and related transactions with or for most of the biggest retailers and developers in the industry.
What distinguishes us is our ability to see not only the legal concepts that are common to each lease, but, moreover, the unique economic opportunities and pitfalls inherent in each deal and how our role as attorneys, working not in isolation but in synergy with the deal-maker and asset manager, can further our client’s long and short-term business objectives, i.e., maximizing and safeguarding the bottom line. To this end, our watchword in every deal is “responsiveness”– and so, while we work passionately to find and protect the downside and maximize the upside, we’re driven to take the proactive role in each negotiation and view with almost equal importance the necessity to keep deals moving swiftly to the finish line.
